Zbigniew Czarnota
– graduate of Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he studied viola with Prof. F. Bryła, he continued his education with Prof.  Pál Lukács at F. Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. He won the First Prize at 2nd Jan Rakowski National Viola Competition in Poznań (1980). Chamber musician, soloist and educator, he has collaborated with top Polish symphony and chamber ensembles, incl. the Menuhin Festival Orchestra and the Sinfonia Varsovia. He has led the viola section of such ensembles, as “Leopoldinum” Polish Chamber Orchestra or the Vratislavia, with which he has released several records and made numerous radio and TV recordings. He has participated in most prestigious music festivals, incl. the Warsaw Autumn, Chamber Music Festival in Łańcut, Mozart Festival in Copenhagen, or the “Klang Bogen” Music Festival. He has played at such renowned European concert venues, as the Berlin Philharmonic or the National Philharmonic in Munich. Ministerial expert on professional promotion of music school teachers, he runs numerous seminars and methodological courses throughout the country. His students have won several well-known competitions, and play in chamber and symphony ensembles throughout Europe. Founder of the biennial National Young Viola Player Competition in Wrocław. Professor of Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he teaches viola.
