Miki Kobayashi began playing the violin at the age of four. Graduated with distinctionfrom the Toho High School of Music, she is continuing her education at the Konservatorium Wien with Professor Pavel Vernikov. She was the youngest contestant to win the first prize in the Japan Student Music Competition, received the Youth Jury Award in the Leopold Mozart International Violin Competition in Augsburg (2006) and made it to the semi-finals of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (USA, 2006) and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition in Paris (2008). Miki made her debut at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra when she was ten. She has performed as a soloist in such Japanese concert venues as the Suntory Hall and Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall.
